Artblogging - Birth of the Bride II

How about some more paintblogging for this painting.

Got to get the pencils laid out on the canvas.

I like to do the sky and the deep bits first. Its easier to smear on the sky when you can overlap onto areas that haven't been touched yet. I like how the moon and the mountains turned out.

Walls are next.

Starting to fill in the characters and the props. I like how their smocks turned out.

Here is one I did recently featuring my favorite subjects Frankie and the Bride. I did a drawing like this some years ago but I thought I could do a better job of it. Here is the progress from original sketch to finished product.

Dr Scarabus

I've been away for a while. Here is a recent painting that turned out pretty good. Boris Karloff as Dr Scarabus from "The Raven."

I was really happy with how this turned out. I was hoping it would lead to a run of good paintings but I've had some flubs since this one was completed. Oh Well.
